Unworn 天狗 心斎橋 Tengu Shinsaibashi Geta This lovely pair of vintage geta were made by Osaka’s iconic Tengu Hakimono of Shinsaibashi. They have been stored for a very long time but are in perfect, never-worn condition in their original box and packaging. They are made of fine paulownia “kiri” wood, lacquered in glossy black with gold, velvet straps. Superior quality, size: 23cm (height: 5cm) Tengu was founded 1894 (Meiji 27) in Shinsaibashi, Osaka and was one of Japan’s finest footwear makers, producing beautifully designed, Japanese made zori and geta for generations. Sadly they lost out to competition from overseas manufacturing and closed their doors forever in 2011 after 117 years in business.
